The winners of the Plant-Themed Minibits Oekaki Contest are DarkAngelX16 in the Intermediate category and Parody in advanced! It was a tough choice on both fronts. Parody only barely beat out Ghiffi in this two person battle for the advanced trophy...it was a very hard choice to make, but her originality of setting won out in the end. Congrats to both of you! I also finished drawing the trophies so you (and the rest of the past winners) will get the new awards. Prizes for everyone who participated are being given out as we speak. Thanks for the great drawings this time everyone!

The next contest's theme is the Park's shopkeepers, Zool & Madaline. It ends on July 1st, so get drawing! :>

The Calendar has been updated to a nicer system and has been filled with more events! Go see for yourself. :>

Also, just a couple of small things. The profile box has been made larger to accommodate all your HTML coding, people were complaining that it was to small. Also, the "Clear Inbox" button for Starmail now gives you an alert so that you don't accidentally delete everything.

Just an update, the Oekaki now officially works fine again. :> In light of this event the Oekaki contest that was going on before the site upgraded has been extended to June 14th. Remember the theme is plant and nature minibits...we need a lot more entries, so if you like to draw we'd love to see what you can do! Oekaki Contest rules and prizes can be found here.

In other news, I've been putting a lot more things up for sale in the Starbits Stuffing Store so that we can keep up with our hosting costs. I just added a cute little card today, and products featuring Starbits characters will come out soon. Even if you can't buy anything, "hearts" are appreciated too. :>

We finally have a new layout. I went ahead and skipped spring and went straight to summer. Sorry I missed the last one guys. :< Anyway, I'm still in the process of figuring out what background is best and doing a few things to the banner, nothing is final yet. If you have any suggestions let me know. So far my main idea is a sand background, but we'll see. I usually have to use a layout for a while and experement before I can decide. ;P Anyway, like I said, feel free to post suggestions up on the forums because I will use them. Enjoy the work in progress layout!

So I got Starbits basically back up. We are now on an ultra fancy expensive managed VPS host that will cost me $50 bucks a month that I will now have to make...good thing I was planning on getting a job anyway. XD;

So as you may be able to tell not everything works completely yet...The Oekaki is currently down as well as a few other things that I probably haven't realized are messed up yet. But don't worry, the core of the site seems to be stable and I'll work out the kinks soon. Thank you for being patient everyone! Expect some awesome things in the future!

Whoo hoo! To all that won the art contest you get an awesome temporary trophy to show off until I can sit down for realz and draw up a good one. I apologize about that...school is insane right now. I have three final projects due on Wednesday and Thursday so after that I should have some free time in-between studying for Accounting and Art History exams on the 10th. But hey! That's only a little over a week away and I'll finally be free to work on SBP! I'm so excited. :> I can't wait to get back to work on the site...I'm really sorry that I can't seem to keep SBP and schoolwork balanced this semester...I should hopefully have better luck next fall.

Also, the next Oekaki Contest theme is up! The theme is Flower & Plant Minibits so draw stuff with lots of Dezzies, Flowerchildren, and Planties. This contest will end on May 20th and hopefully I'll have the real trophies drawn up by then. <__<

In other news, I fixed that weird glitch from earlier today where people's Starbits disappeared. The table in the database with that information went a bit crazy, but I repaired it hopefully. Anyways, thanks for sticking with us and expect some updates after my exams.

First off, fellow Bitans, I gotta apologize. This announcement is a few days late, which is unacceptable, because I put up my hand to judge our Oekaki Contest this time round, and I'm running late.
This isn't fare on all those people who participated, and might I add, I am soso happy with the amount of people who participated this time! I hope to see people just as excited for the next one, which I'd like to encourage. I know the site is sort of dead right now, but it'll pick up again. Promise. ;;

The winners are as follows...

Intermediate: Graphire
Advanced: Ghiffi

It was quite hard to judge, especially in the advanced category...I ended up picking Ghiffi because of the well thought out details of the easel and paintbrushes, and Graphire's image made me laugh. XD I really liked all of the submissions! It was fun to look forward to seeing the new pictures every day! Everyone who participated got 2000 bits and the winners were given 10,000. I'm still drawing the ribbons, so you first place peoples will get those soon. Also, as you can see I've collaged several of the entries into the Oekaki Contest banner that we'll be using for a while.

The next Oekaki Contest's theme is...Fools (as in the species ;P). It will end (for realz) on April 24th. I'd like to see even more submissions, so get drawing. If there is something I can do to motivate you guys even more just let me know.

Also, I know I've been dead lately, but I promise that things will pick up soon. I just finished some exams so I should have a bit more free time (at least for a week or two) so I'll try to time manage so I can get some new updates in.

I've fixed the problem with new users not being able to access the travel page. Sorry it took me so long to fix. I will also fix the Koumori Cafe glitch soon, I have a hunch of what that could be. I've been working on school art projects almost endlessly and have two more exams to go this week. Once Easter hits I should have some more free time. I feel bad for neglecting you all so I'll make sure the updates to come are extra nice. :>

Since we had some downtime and we don't have enough entries (you know you want to enter :>) I'm extending the Oekaki Contest to March 27th.

In other news I finally figured out why some people couldn't upgrade the main room of their house. It was a simple mistake really...since there was no option that was automatically highlighted some people were forgetting to select the option in the form to upgrade. XD; I had to actually watch somebody else in person to figure out how people were getting that glitch. There is now an error message if you forget to select something. :>

As an added bonus All main room, east room, and west room house expansions have been reduced by 5000 bits! So go upgrade your house and enjoy!
